B-Force 568 is always ready, operated at VDRC.

There’s no better plan to prepare against what’s going to come your way than to get ready for any eventuality.  The onslaught of Typhoons Kristine & Marce unleashed powerful, destructive forces wreaking havoc on their path as it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). And now, typhoon Nika is on its way. Thus, B-Force Troopers responded to the call for help by conducting relief goods packing operations on 09-10 Nov. 2024 at the VDRC.

The Philippines is a typhoon-prone country, with approximately 20 typhoons entering its area of responsibility each year. With those numbers, the country is one of the most frequently and severely affected countries in the world in terms of typhoon-related calamities. Worse, around 5 of those are expected to be powerful and destructive. That’s nature and we can do practically nothing about it.  However, we can mitigate its impact and cause for damages by remaining alert and keeping prepared.  That, in itself, is a big challenge for all of us.

The other challenge we have is in the relief goods preparation and aid distribution.  Given that the repackaging machines & equipments have limited capacities, when calamities strike, sometimes even operating at 24/7 wouldn’t suffice.  Hence, there is a need to keep ample supply for emergencies.

On aid distribution, we have to take into account that the Philippines is an archipelago and the destructive forces of these calamities may sometimes damage the infrastructures making travel/transport difficult, if not impossible.  We need to have mobile and agile forces on the ground ready to respond to any emergencies.

The good thing is we have these volunteers, composed of unselfish individuals who are passionate to serve and dedicated to assist our communities where help is needed.  Men & women who are willing to sacrifice their own time, resources and efforts to gallantly serve our community for the good of humanity.

It is great to know that the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) under the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) of the Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD) has taken the initiative of tapping the voluntary services of Force Multipliers such as the Blasert Force 568 Inc. organization.

We thank all those who supported us and continue to do so:  the CCPO – Advisory Group for Police Transformatiion & Development thru its Chairperson, Mrs. Marlinda Angbetic-Tan, the Borbon Municipal Advisory Council thru its President, Engr. Airen M. Areja, the Barangay Lahug LGU thru its Chairperson, Kap Hazel Ann Muaña-Empleo, SK - Lahug and all others who, in many other ways, have supported us somehow. Many thanks as well to the B-Force Troopers who participated on this operation. Much appreciated.

Special thanks to Engr. Romnick Emmanuel Balasabas, Administrative Officer V, VDRC, NRLMB, DSWD R-7, for guiding us through the operations.

We need more volunteers for our relief goods packing operations as there is an urgent to replenish the depleted inventories at VDRC - Mandaue City warehouse.
